Articles introduce the idea of a "Cultural Revolution"
August 1966:
Mao launches the "Cultural Revolution"
October 1966:
Mao's Red Guards called to destroy the old customs, old habits, old culture, and old ideas.
January 1967:
Red Guards overthrew old Party Committee and replaced it with Radicals.
February 1967
Party officials call for an end to the Cultural Revolution, Mao continues with his support.
Summer 1967:
Mao replaced those officials who opposed the Cultural Revolution with those who do.
1968:
Red Guard is broken up in "rustification movement", where the Red Guard was sent to learn from the peasants.
April 1969:
Mao declares victory of the Cultural Revolution, and supports Lin Biao as next successor.
